MOSSY CAVE TRAIL

MAY 2012

WATERFALL NEAR THE END OF THE TRAIL

TRIPLE ARCH

The  Mossy Cave Trail is short one-mile round-trip hike located along Highway 12 near the town of Tropic. While it is technically located within Bryce Canyon National Park, no fee is required to visit as it is located apart from the more famous portions of the park. It is about a half-mile walk to Mossy Cave, where a spring comes out of an overhanging cliff wall to provide a nice place to cool off during the summer. There will also be a side trail leading to a waterfall that runs from about May to October. Along the way to the waterfall keep your eyes peeled for Triple Arch along the right side of the trail. While not a destination hike, this could make a nice, short stop if you traveling along Highway 12.
